Sunday 28 February:
10am SERVICE: At the church, or Click https://zoom.us/j/5172232020
Preacher: Dr Kate Pocklington 2 Peter 1:5-8 “SPIRITUAL LEGO”
Let’s explore together some very practical ways of living out the character and nature of God, building on the foundation that we have of faith in the saving work of Jesus Christ. These are ways to bear witness to Jesus in everyday life as we interact with others.
Community Lunch: Food will be provided. If you haven’t let us know you will be there, call us.
Table Talk: Using a video clip to stir our thinking, we will be looking at what it means when we have Wider Conversations. That is, conversations with people who don’t usually have anything to do with church. What is our mindset? How can we build bridges into the community that makes an eternal difference? How can we put our faith into action intentionally?
THIS WEEK: Bible Studies and Conversational English continue.

A SPECIAL GIFT: Marj Higgins, who died on 1 August 2020, has left us $15,000 in her will. Adam, her son, writes, “In her written words, ‘To the members of Balwyn Baptist Church at [location] ….I leave the sum of $15,000 for the general purposes of the Balwyn Baptist Church and for the members of Balwyn Baptist Church to use as they see fit.”
FINANCES: Offerings were a little low in January ($1,757 below budget). However, for the financial year since July offerings have been $1,800 above budget, and we have received $6,140 in special gifts. Rental income was low because groups have not been able to meet. Expenses in January were $1,198 over budget, but with the offerings and gifts given, we have gained $8,159 above budget expectations for the financial year. Thank you!
BAPTIST WORLD AID AUSTRALIA DONATION: $4,050 was given over the Christmas period. Thank you for your help.
COVID, CLEANING, TURNING OFF, LOCKING UP: A reminder to everyone to maintain Covid precautions, and please that at the end of all of our activities in the church it is important to:
- Make sure the building is clean – if food is shared, someone needs to vacuum the floor,
- Turn off lights, fans, heaters, sound desk,
- Lock the kitchen door and the front door
